The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called on the famous Ukrainian football player and coach Andriy Shevchenko to return to Ukraine. The head of state wrote about this on his Facebook page.
"Andrei Nikolaevich, Sheva. Not only the whole of our country, but also the whole of Europe knows what kind of game the team under your leadership is capable of. Therefore, let this be only the first club pancake lump at the beginning of the big career of the great coach. We believe - you will not break, we know that you will become even better!" - wrote the president.
And he added: "And most importantly. You are loved the most in Ukraine. Therefore, go back to work at home..."
As a reminder, Shevchenko was the head coach of the Ukrainian national team from July 2016 to 1 August 2021 year.
7 November Shevchenko headed the oldest Italian club "Genoa". Under the Ukrainian coach, the team played 11 matches - seven defeats, three draws and one victory. However, he could not pull the team out of the bottom of the tournament table.
January 15, it became known that Shevchenko dismissed from the post of head coach of Genoa.
