The former coach of the Ukrainian national football team Andriy Shevchenko headed the oldest Italian club "Genoa" (Ed. – it was founded 128 years ago). This is reported on the official website of the football club.
"Genoa CFC announces that Andrey Shevchenko has reached an agreement with 777 Partners (Ed. - an American company, the recent owner of the club) and will lead the Griffins until June 30, 2024," the message reads.
As a football player, Shevchenko won, among other things, the Golden Ball in 2004 and the Champions League in 2003. His coaching career has led the Ukrainian national team since July 2016 to a historic place in the eight best European teams at Euro-2020.
August 1, Shevchenko left the post of head coach of the Ukrainian national football team.
