Shevchenko officially became the president of the UAF

He was the only candidate for this position in the elections

In the capital's House of Football, the delegates of the extraordinary congress of the Ukrainian Football Association elected a new head of the organization. He became former striker and head coach of the Ukrainian national team Andriy Shevchenko. It was reported on the official website of the UAF.

The winner of the "Golden Ball-2004" became the head of national football. The election of the president of the association was the third item on the agenda of the XNUMXth UAF congress.

The 47-year-old Shevchenko was the only candidate for the post of UAF president who was nominated for this position by all permanent members of the UAF a month before the elections. After that, Andrii confirmed that he would take part in the elections. Directly at the Congress, 93 UAF delegates voted "for" Shevchenko, "against" and "abstained" - 0.

Shevchenko became the sixth president of the FFU/UAF in history. Andriy Shevchenko will replace Andriy Pavelek, who has held the position since 2015, as the president of the UAF. Pavelko has been in custody without bail since June 2023.

Previously, the national football was also managed by Viktor Bannikov, Valery Pustovoytenko, Hryhoriy Surkis and Anatoliy Konkov.
