Shevchenko leaves the post of head coach of the Ukrainian national team

Due to the end of the contract

On August 1, Andrey Shevchenko announced his resignation as head coach of the Ukrainian national football team due to the expiration of his contract. He announced this on his Facebook page.

"Today my contract with the Ukrainian Football Association expired, I spent five years with the main team of the country. It was hard work that proved that we are capable of playing modern football," he wrote.

And he thanked the president and the UAF executive committee for the opportunity to work with the Ukrainian national team, as well as the players and everyone who helped and was involved with the team.

"Many thanks to all the fans for their support and criticism. Together, we managed to show that our football can be competitive, effective and interesting. With faith in Ukraine," he added.

Meanwhile, the edition "Observer" reports that Shevchenko did not renew his expired contract due to a financial dispute.

In particular, according to journalists, Sheva intended to conclude a contract providing for the financing of the coaching staff in the aggregate for 3 million dollars. The UAF did not agree to this and offered 1,5 million.

The parties could not find a compromise and Andrey Shevchenko is no longer the coach of the Ukrainian national team. It is likely that he will continue coaching now at the club level.
