Participants of the Islamist movement "Taliban" in the capital of Afghanistan, Kabul, poured about 3 liters of alcohol into the river. It happened during a raid in the city. The video was published by the Main Directorate of Intelligence in Twitter.
The reason for the incident was the fact that the new country's authorities are strictly suppressing the sale of alcohol.
The video shows the Taliban pouring out alcohol stored in barrels. In addition to the seized drinks, three alcohol sellers were also arrested during the raid. In the published footage, they are standing next to armed Taliban.
"Muslims must seriously refrain from the production and sale of alcohol," one of the preachers of Islam said in the video.
It is known that the sale and consumption of alcohol was prohibited under the previous regime, but the Taliban strictly opposes this phenomenon.
Since the Taliban seized power in the country on August 15, 2021, the number of not only anti-alcohol raids, but also operations against drug users has increased in Afghanistan.
