Key issues of the government meeting on April 26

On Friday, April 26, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine extended the preferential price for electricity for the population until May 31. This is what Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said said at a government meeting.

As noted in the message of the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, currently preferential tariffs for electricity for household consumers amount to 2,64 hryvnias per 1 kilowatt. Such a tariff should expire on April 30, but the government extended it until May 31.

At the same time, the prime minister called on all Ukrainians to consume electricity sparingly, as the country's energy system still has a significant deficit, despite 24/7 repair work.

"We are installing mini CHP plants in various cities, strengthening the energy system due to its decentralization, but it is impossible to restore everything quickly." - stressed the prime minister.

In addition, the state-owned Naftogaz has extended preferential gas tariffs for the population — they will also be equal to 7,96 hryvnias per 1 cubic meter.
