President of Moldova Igor Dodon will fight for the second presidential term. He announced this on his Facebook page.
On September 9, the Central Election Commission accepted documents for the registration of the initiative group of presidential candidate Igor Dodon. The initiative group in support of Dodon will consist of one hundred people, headed by MP Vlad Batryncha.
"I decided to run for a second term as president, because I am convinced of the support of citizens who want me to continue my work in this post and complete my political agenda - for the sake of achieving economic and social goals, ensuring the progress of the Republic of Moldova. This is my desire - to continue during the second presidential mandate what I started in the first," said the President of Moldova.
He admitted that the years of his presidency were very difficult.
"At the first stage, we faced the oligarchic regime of Plahotniuk, which we managed to overthrow. Then came the COVID pandemic, the drought, the shutdown of many economic agents. It was difficult to manage all these processes, but I believe that we managed to save the economy and ensure all payments to state employees and pensioners, including helping farmers, in the business environment. And our decisions turned out to be correct. I really hope that after overcoming the pandemic, new opportunities will open up for more active continuation of the implementation of my political projects and those social projects for the sake of which people entrusted me with their votes in 2016," said Dodon.
