The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine plans to increase the minimum wholesale and retail prices for alcoholic beverages: for the retail prices of vodka and liqueur-vodka products - by 8,3%, for whiskey, rum and gin - by 8,4%, for cognac (brands) - by 4,8 to 8,3%. But they want to raise prices for wine production much more: from 8,2 to 34,2%.
The draft resolution also states that the minimum wholesale price of 1 liter of 100% alcohol, which is used in calculating the amount of tax liabilities in the production of vodka, in the event of a price increase will be UAH 368,84 including VAT (in 2018 — UAH 321,34 ), and its retail price will increase from UAH 447,02 to UAH 484,1.
Now the minimum price of 0,5 liters of 40% strength vodka is UAH 89. 40 kopecks. After the increase, this price will approach 100 hryvnias.
The Ministry of Economy notes that this step — the increase in minimum prices for alcohol — will help increase the profits of producers and bring new revenues to the state treasury.
