Poland believes that Ukraine should take the initiative to return men of military age from abroad. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Radoslav Sikorskyi in an interview TVN24.
"Ukraine really needs to take the initiative here, because for us this is an ethically ambiguous issue. Although, of course, we understand that Ukraine needs its defenders to protect its Motherland." - he said.
The head of the Polish Foreign Ministry noted that he is not yet aware of the ideas that Ukraine is considering for the return of the men home. But Sikorsky called the initiative to limit consular services "interesting".
"Earlier, in December, when I was in Kyiv immediately after being appointed to the position, the Ukrainian side spoke a little differently, but in the same direction. Namely, that they will have a certificate for their citizens that he has a regulated relationship with the military service, and they asked at the European Union level not to provide social benefits to people who do not have such a certificate. An interesting idea," — he added.
Recall that in Ukraine, it was forbidden to issue passports to men aged 18 to 60 outside the country. Also from April 23 limited the provision of consular services abroad.
