Starting today, vaccination against COVID-19 with the drug CoronaVac, produced by the Chinese company Sinovac Biotech, begins in Ukraine. For this, the Ministry of Health has completed all necessary checks and tests of the drug. This was reported by Health Minister Maksym Stepanov.
"CoronaVac is a development of the world-famous company Sinovac Biotech, which produces hundreds of millions of doses of vaccines per year and supplies them to more than 35 countries. Ukraine received the first batch in the amount of 215 doses of this vaccine. In total, the contract is concluded for 1,9 million doses. The remaining 1,7 million will be received in the near future. We expect delivery during April-May of this year," Stepanov noted.
The first batch of CoronaVac vaccines will be distributed, first of all, among the less mobile groups of the population and their caregivers, social workers. Vaccination will also be organized for teachers participating in the organization and conduct of the VNO, for Ukrainian Olympic and Paralympic athletes preparing for the Olympics in Tokyo, representatives of the National Police and Armed Forces of Ukraine.
