In Balta, a 62-year-old woman was killed by her own son. The deceased was found by an acquaintance who reported the incident to law enforcement officers.
According to the expert examination, the woman died of painful shock, brain hemorrhage, and rib fractures. The police detained a 42-year-old man and took him to a local psychiatric clinic.
"During the investigation, the police established that the woman was killed by her mentally ill son. Against the background of the aggravation of the disease during the conflict, the man hit the mother on the head, and when she fell, he kicked her on the body," said Vitaly Melnychenko, head of the Podolsky district police department.
Currently, a forensic psychiatric examination establishes a man's sanity. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
