The Control and Disciplinary Committee of the UAF fined FC "Veres" for violating the clause of the regulation, which obliges to give a flash interview in the state language. The official website of "Veres" reported the fine.
The violation occurred after the match of the 17th round of the UPL between "Veres" and "Dynamo" Kyiv.
The "Veres" administration apologized and announced that from now on, club representatives will give interviews and comments to the media only in Ukrainian. For football players or other employees of the club who, in their opinion, speak the state language at an insufficient level, the club is ready to organize courses on studying Ukrainian.
This decision does not apply to club representatives who are citizens of other states.
"If a football player has a Ukrainian passport - public interviews, comments to the official broadcaster, media representatives - he must give in Ukrainian. I also understand that there are football players who do not know Ukrainian well. Now there is already a tendency that they are even a little ashamed," said the president of "Veres" Ivan Nadein.
