The House of Representatives of the US Congress approved a resolution on the impeachment of the current Republican President Donald Trump.

232 members of the US House of Representatives voted for Trump's impeachment, while 197 congressmen voted against it. According to the voting results, the impeachment resolution was supported by at least 10 of Trump's fellow party members in the House of Representatives.
Now the indictment will be sent to the Senate, where the procedure will turn into a trial. However, according to the Senate's work schedule, it can deal with the issue of impeachment already after the end of Trump's presidential term. The Senate will not meet to discuss any serious topics requiring a vote until January 19, and the inauguration of Democrat Joseph Biden as the next head of state will take place at noon on January 20.
The announcement of the second impeachment for Trump occurred after a group of supporters of the American Republican leader broke into the Capitol building on January 6 after a rally in Washington, where a joint session of the chambers of the US Congress was taking place at the time. They were supposed to confirm the victory of Democrat Joe Biden in the presidential election. A break was called in the session, the Capitol police evacuated members of Congress from the building. Five people died, 52 people were arrested.
In the relatively recent past, Democrats in the House of Representatives have already tried to remove Trump from power by subjecting him to impeachment. This request failed when the Senate acquitted the 2020th US president in early 45. Then he was accused of abusing power and obstructing the work of Congress.
