President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said that the city of Zangilan and 24 villages in different districts of Nagorno-Karabakh were taken under the control of their armed forces. He announced this in an address to the people
"Yerevan must withdraw its troops from Azerbaijan before it is too late. We will continue to chase the occupiers," he said.
According to him, "liberated from Armenian occupation" are six villages of the Fizulin district, seven of the Dzhebrail district, five of the Khojavend district, and six of the Zangilan district.
Aliyev also added that during the last battles, the Azerbaijani army destroyed 241 Armenian tanks, took 39 tanks as trophies, disabled 70 Grad installations, four S-300 complexes.
The Zangilan district in the south-west of Azerbaijan has been under the control of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic since October 29, 1993.
The total area of the Zangilan district is 707 square kilometers. The city of Zangelan, the settlement of Myndzhivan and 83 villages were located in the Zangilan district.
Earlier, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said that they are ready to come to Moscow again for negotiations on the settlement of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.
