Svitolina beat her rival from Germany

The first racket of Ukraine, Elina Svitolina from Odesa, started at the Olympic Games in Tokyo with a victory.

So, in the match of the first round, Svitolina won in three sets against Laura Sigemund from Germany – 6:3, 5:7, 6:4.

The match lasted 3 hours and 5 minutes.

Svitolina's next opponent will be determined in the match between Yaroslav Shvedov (Kazakhstan) and Ayla Tomlyanovych (Australia).

The Olympic tennis tournament will end on August 1.

As a reminder, on July 16, Elina Svitolina got married for the French tennis player Gael Monfils.
