Pyotr Adamyk, chairman of the "European Solidarity" faction of the Lviv city council, rejected the accusations of mayor Andrey Sadovoy of usurpation of power due to the requirement to hold the first session of the city council on November 24 and called it the fulfillment of the law.
He announced this on Monday on his Facebook page.
"Andrei Sadova, stop the hysteria! No one is "usurping power." At least from among the newly elected deputies. "We only require the municipal election committee to fulfill the norm of Article 46 of the Law of Ukraine "On Local Self-Government," Adamyk wrote. on his Facebook page on Monday. He noted that the first meeting of the new council was supposed to take place on November 17.
"We just demand to correct the mistake and hold the first session in accordance with the law. In order not to start the work of this convocation with violated legislation, which is what the city mayor is now pushing us to do," said the leader of the Eurosolidarness faction in the Lviv City Council.
He also stated that if Sadovoi's subordinates do not implement the decision of the electoral commission and do not provide an opportunity for holding the first session, then such steps will be regarded as a request for usurpation of power.
"Therefore, once again, Andrey Ivanovich: stop the tantrums. End the elections, change pre-election rhetoric. Even yesterday you hinted at a desire to cooperate. So let's cooperate - for the well-being of the community and the city," wrote Adamyk.
Recall today Sadovoi said that the postponement of the first meeting of the newly elected Lviv City Council to November 24 was a request for usurpation of power. According to him, after taking the oath of office of the new members of the city council, he, as the mayor, will remain in power until the moment of registration as the winner of the 2020 elections, and the powers will pass to the elected secretary of the city council.
