Due to an accident on the power grid, the southern part of Odessa was left without electricity. As a result of the blackout, KNS-22 was also de-energized. This sewage pumping station serves to collect sewage from tens of thousands of homes in Chernomorka and Sauvignon and then transfer it to Yuzhnaya SBO for treatment.
However, in this situation, the powerful Aksa AD330 generator set recently acquired by "Infoksvodokanal" came in handy. With its help, the specialists of the water company successfully ensured the autonomous power supply of pumps on KNS-22 and, thus, it was possible to avoid pollution of the sea.
It should be noted that the generator set itself is manufactured by Aksa (Turkey), one of the world's best manufacturers. Its power of 240 kW is provided by a Volvo Penta diesel engine, which allows to provide both emergency and autonomous power supply in any weather in almost all spheres of activity. For the needs of Infoxvodokanal, it was purchased mainly to provide backup power to sewage pumping stations. However, it has been successfully used more than once for water supply. Fortunately, the Aksa generator is installed on a special chassis, which ensures mobility and the ability to use it at any facility of the water supply within the limits of the permissible capacity.
As Igor Lysenko, director of the Infoksvodokanal branch, noted, the issue of energy supply reliability is key for the enterprise. After all, uninterrupted operation of pumping stations, laboratories and treatment facilities depends on this.
In this regard, "Infoksvodokanal", without waiting for breakdowns and emergency situations, ensured the timely replacement of outdated power grids, backup power inputs, and transformer substations. And the presence of modern powerful generators helps the facilities of the water utility to work without interruption, despite force majeure and weather conditions.
