Chernivtsi City Council intends to file a lawsuit against the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine due to the installation of a "red" quarantine zone on the territory of the city. This is reported on the official website of the city council.
On September 9, residents of the city of Chernivtsi gathered for the rally "No to distance learning!". Protesters asked the authorities to allow schools and kindergartens to open.
City council secretary Vasyl Prodan addressed the pickets.
"It is important for us to protect our principals and teachers from the pressure of the central government and the police. They are really afraid of the imposition of fines in the amount of 17 or 34 thousand hryvnias. Therefore, I think that we must all support them," he said.
The official also added that the Chernivtsi City Council plans to file a lawsuit against the Cabinet of Ministers with a demand to cancel the installation of a "red" quarantine zone on the city's territory.
Note that since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 11 people have contracted the coronavirus in the Chernivtsi region. 500 people.
