Chernivtsi is the historical capital of Bukovina, a city with unique architecture and a rich cultural heritage. After Lviv, this city is deservedly considered the second cultural capital of Western Ukraine. Chernivtsi region gave the world many celebrities — Sofia Rotaru, Jan Tabachnyk, Katya Buzhinskaya, Nazariy Yaremchuk.
Experts National rating of influence "Elite of Ukraine"-2021 made a list 20 most influential people of Chernivtsi region. The oligarch and former prime minister of Ukraine, the "gray cardinal" of Ukrainian politics, the main "Moscow" of the country and a lover of colorful t-shirts with hype inscriptions got into it.
The first place in the rating of the most influential was headed by a millionaire, the owner of Group DF Dmitry Firtash. Chernivtsi is the family of a disgraced businessman, who is now under sanctions. But it's not even a matter of wealth, but of the fact that traditionally Chernihiv region is a "battlefield" between Firtash's and Yatsenyuk's influence groups. And at the moment, the scales have tipped in favor of Firtash.
The second place was taken by a native of Chernivtsi, ex-prime minister of Ukraine, leader of the People's Front party Yatsenyuk. The Yatsenyuk-Burbak influence group retained "their" mayor Kaspruk, but now supports his successor, Roman Klychuk.
The third place in the rating of influence is occupied by the "gray cardinal" of Ukrainian politics Ilya Pavlyuk. He owns a number of enterprises and is engaged in business in the fields of customs, agricultural products, and owns a hotel complex. Pavlyuk had good connections with the leadership of the "Servant of the People" party and oversaw the work of dozens of people's deputies. In his native Chernivtsi region, he has a significant influence on representatives of the presidential vertical.
On the fourth line, the TOP-20 took place Vasily Sold, deputy of the Chernivtsi city council, businessman, owner of Banush LLC. Prodan was the secretary of Chernivtsi city council from 2017 to 2020. Belongs to the group of influence of Firtash-Papiev. The Prodan family plays the biggest role in the struggle for power in Chernivtsi.
The fifth position is occupied by the mayor of Chernivtsov, elected in 2020 Roman Klychuk. He owns the "Roma" company, which was engaged in the wholesale trade of alcoholic beverages. The eighth line is occupied by Maxim Burbak, ex-people's deputy of Ukraine and associate of Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
In ninth place is a deputy of the Chernivtsi city council, candidate for mayor of Chernivtsov (2020) Vitaly Mykhailyshyn. Then he took second place, slightly behind Roman Klychuk. Mykhailyshyn is a leader of public opinion and close to Firtash-Prodan's group.
The chairman of the Chernivtsi regional council closes the TOP-20 Alexey Boyko. A member of the Agrarian Party, its regional organization is headed by the head of the Sokyran Territorial Community Vasyl Kozak. It was thanks to Kozak's efforts that Boyko received the majority of votes and became the head of the regional council.
