A fire broke out at Kharkiv University named after Karazin. The second floor of the main building of the university is on fire. This was reported by the press service of the State Security Service of Ukraine.
"Today at 12:25 in the eleven-story building of Kharkiv National University named after V.N. Karazin (according to preliminary information - in the utility room of the assembly hall) there was a fire, dense smoke is observed. Evacuation is underway," the message says.
According to the students, the smoke reached the fifth floor.
"I was writing an exam paper when the sirens started sounding. An organized evacuation took place together with the heads of the department and the dean's office. All came out. No one seems to have been hurt. There is smoke on some floor. You can see smoke practically all over the building," said a student of the Faculty of History.
It is noted that there are no victims or victims. The State Emergency Service reported that 40 people and 13 units of service equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
