Given the way the TV tower was built, its restoration after yesterday's damage is possible only after the hostilities are over. This was reported by the Director of the Department of Civil Protection of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration (OVA) Ivan Sokola v on the air "Radio Liberty".
As Sokol noted, there is currently no digital television in Kharkiv and nearby settlements. Specialists are working on an analysis of the damage to the TV tower to make final conclusions about the damage. In particular, after analyzing the damaged equipment, it will be possible to assess the possibilities of rebuilding the structure.
"If we take into account the way it (television tower, ed.) was built, its restoration is possible after the end of hostilities," - said Sokol.
The Director of the Department of Civil Protection of Kharkiv OVA noted, that, in his opinion, the attack on the highest object in Kharkiv was an attempt to intimidate the townspeople.
"Of course, it got people a little excited. I think this strike was aimed at slightly intimidating the population of the Kharkiv region," — he added.
On the air of the telethon Oleg Sinegubov, head of Kharkiv OVA noted that the complete restoration of the structure is possible only after the war. Since its height was almost 250 meters, restoration work is currently impractical.
"As for the functionality that this tower carried, we have already begun to eliminate the consequences that we have today. This is actually a complication of digital broadcasting. However, there is an alternative," — noted the head of the OVA.
According to him, the alternative is the Internet, cable television and satellite television.
"Well, as for the telecommunication that was received via T2 devices, we have now actually started to eliminate the consequences. I think that in the near future we will have a positive result in this direction," — Sinegubov added.
Recall that On April 22, the occupiers hit the Kharkiv TV tower with an Kh-59 missile.
As a result of the shelling, there is no digital broadcast signal in Kharkiv and nearby settlements.
