In the Mykolaiv region, counter-intelligence officers of the Security Service of Ukraine warned against the illegal shipment of dual-purpose technological equipment abroad. Under the guise of civilian production, foreign customers planned to receive units for warships. This was reported in the SBU press center.
According to preliminary investigation data, the deal was organized by representatives of a local commercial structure specializing in the design and manufacture of ship and industrial ventilation systems. They tried to illegally transport state-controlled goods abroad.
In order to implement the scheme, the dealers entered unreliable information about the scope of use of the cargo in the accompanying documentation.
Dual-use products were detained at the customs post.
The seized ship's equipment was sent for examination. The issue of notification of suspicion to the organizers and participants of illegal activity is resolved.
Criminal proceedings are open under Article 333 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of the order of implementation of international transfers of goods subject to state export control). Investigative and operative actions are ongoing, law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the case.
