Ukrainians spent a billion "covid hryvnias" on books under the "eSupport" program. This is reported by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Facebook.
To date, more than 8,6 million Ukrainians have used the service.
A total of UAH 8,6 billion have been transferred to citizens' cards since the start of the program, and UAH 3 billion of the received funds have already been spent.
"The undisputed leader in the expenditure of funds that citizens received for vaccination is the purchase of books. Less than two months later, Ukrainians bought UAH 1 billion worth of books. This is essential support for the publishing business," MKIP said.
In addition to books, among the most popular types of expenses were cinemas — UAH 658 million, as well as theaters, concerts and entertainment services — UAH 341 million.
