Acting Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet called on local authorities to transfer schoolchildren to distance learning. He wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
He noted that the Ministry of Education, together with the Ministry of Health, constantly monitors the situation regarding the spread of the coronavirus disease, including in educational institutions.
"I am asking not only as the head of the Ministry of Education and Science, but as a father, to find an opportunity to organize distance learning for our children for the next two weeks. I know and understand that training organization issues are decided locally. It is important that the central and local authorities act together in such a difficult situation. Therefore, please listen to the recommendations of the state and local commissions on technogenic and ecological safety and emergency situations, as well as the National Security Council," he wrote.
And he added that he understands all the challenges faced by heads of educational institutions, teachers and parents."
"The whole world is trying to overcome these challenges. The most important thing for us now is to prevent the rapid spread of the coronavirus and preserve people's health," Skarlet emphasized.
