Ukraine is switching to electronic work books

Paper ones will be valid for another five years

In Ukraine, since June 10, electronic work books have been introduced. This was reported by the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.

In particular, the Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to Some Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding Accounting of Labor Activities of an Employee in Electronic Form" entered into force.

Starting from 2004, the appointment of pension payments is carried out based on the records of the employee's labor activity in the State Register of mandatory state social insurance. The law establishes that missing information on labor activity, which is in paper work books and absent in electronic form, will be entered in the State Register within five years. That is, during this period, both the paper work book and the electronic form are taken into account. If a person has work experience before 2004, it is possible to enter this information in the electronic register independently or with the help of the employer.

Currently, paper employment books are used to calculate special seniority, to confirm seniority in the relevant field, and the like. With the help of the electronic work book, the necessary information can be obtained on the portal of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

The introduction of electronic work books will help to eliminate the possibility of losing the work book, damage, errors and entering unreliable information in this document, as well as simplifying access to information about work or insurance experience.

You can review the available information about yourself on the portal of electronic services of the Pension Fund of Ukraine - portal.pfu.gov.ua. Employers' access to electronic data will be carried out in cases provided by legislation.
