An oil tanker exploded and sank off the coast of Nigeria. It can store 2 million barrels of oil. Shebah Exploration & Production (SEPCOL), the operator of the vessel, reported this.
According to the CEO of SEPCOL, there were 10 crew members on board. Their fate is still unknown.
"The management of SEPCOL announces an accident - a fire at the offshore facility FPSO Trinity Spirit, which occurred as a result of an explosion. We do not have information about the victims, but we can confirm that there were ten crew members on board the ship before the incident," the message says.
No casualties have been reported yet.
