Already in May of this year, the National Security and Defense Council (NSDO) is going to announce the names of the first oligarchs. The Minister of Justice of Ukraine Denys Malyuska reported this on his Facebook page.
According to him, those who will have at least three of the following signs will be included in the register:
- presence of significant assets;
- monopoly on a separate market of goods;
- participation in political life;
- media control.
"The policy criterion is very simple and easy to verify. First of all, this is if the person holds a political position or has close relatives or business partners in political positions," said the head of the Ministry of Justice.
As for media owners, now Ukrainian TV channels are obliged to publicly disclose their ownership structure. In addition, you can see the declarations of people's deputies and the companies they own. All information is online.
In the comments under the minister's Facebook post, people have already started joking about this topic: "He tested himself." According to all 4 criteria, he is not an oligarch. Go to work."

Oligarchs from the list will be prohibited from financing parties, being a buyer in the process of privatization of large privatization objects, financing any political campaign or holding rallies and demonstrations with political demands. In addition, oligarchs will have to report on contacts with civil servants.
