Most likely, the next, fourth wave of the coronavirus will begin in Ukraine in the fall. This was announced by the new Chief Medical Officer of Ukraine, Igor Kuzyn, on the air of the 1+1 TV channel.
However, now all regions of the country are in the green zone of adaptive quarantine, the situation with the pandemic is under full control.
"Most likely, we will face the next wave of COVID-19, which will be in the fall. This is a common practice, as we understand that SARS mainly appear at the end of autumn - at the beginning of winter." said Cousin.
At the same time, he thinks that this wave will be much easier than the previous one.
"Many people in Ukraine have already contracted the coronavirus, and many have been vaccinated. And at least those who are vaccinated, due to the protective effect of the vaccine, will not be subject to hospitalization, or the disease will proceed in a milder form," said Kuzyn.
Meanwhile, the WHO predicts the spread of a more contagious strain of the coronavirus in Europe. This variant of the coronavirus, known as the "delta variant", has already displaced other strains in a number of countries.
