In the period from November 30 to December 22, the Ministry of Health of Poland received 30 applications for consent to work from doctors, mostly with Belarusian and Ukrainian citizenship. In total, hundreds or thousands of medical workers are waiting.

"Our information shows that dozens of hospitals have started recruiting medical personnel from the East. According to estimates, hundreds or thousands of medical workers will arrive in Poland. This is a consequence of new regulations adopted at the end of November, which make it easier for foreigners from outside the EU to start working in the healthcare sector. Before the changes to the regulations, about 40 medical workers from outside the Union were employed annually. According to the DGP, between November 30 and December 22, the Ministry of Health received 30 applications, mostly doctors with Belarusian and Ukrainian citizenship, to obtain consent to work in Poland," the media reported.
It is noted that employment agencies confirm that there is a boom among doctors. Thus, Optimus Work already has a portfolio of more than 200 doctors, mainly from Ukraine and Belarus, but also from Tajikistan.
"They willingly come, even if it is necessary immediately. The main argument is earnings: the salary they receive in their country turns from 1 to 2,5 thousand. zlotys, and the cost of living is not significantly lower... Some institutions also offer apartments or language courses or reimbursement of moving expenses," the message states.
It is reported that hospitals are primarily looking for pulmonologists, cardiologists, anesthesiologists and therapists. In addition, they are looking for anesthesiologists, dentists, psychiatrists, family doctors and ophthalmologists - primary care clinics also need them.
