The National Security Council presented a draft law on territorial defense, within the framework of which they want to distribute small arms to Ukrainians en masse for home storage.
This was stated at a press conference by Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Sergey Krivonos.
According to him, the draft law № 4504 was already discussed by the specialized committee of the Council and representatives of law enforcement agencies. It is based on the need for effective response to external threats. According to him, a resident of any corner of Ukraine can become a member of territorial defense to protect his land from the enemy. For this, he will undergo training on weekends, and on weekdays he will be engaged in civil affairs.
It is proposed to issue 80 rubles to house members of the terror defense. small arms units. At the same time, Sergey Krivonos does not see this as a threat, since the population already has more than a million weapons.
It is assumed that the draft law will be submitted to the Council for consideration in February-March.
