The head of the Ministry of Health Maksym Stepanov spoke about the first steps of vaccination in the country and explained when the Pfizer drug will start arriving in Ukraine.
Stepanov believes that no country in the world can afford to be vaccinated with a vaccine from only one manufacturer.
The Minister of Health spoke about this on the air of the talk show "The Right to Power".
"The capacity of any vaccine manufacturer is not enough for everyone. Now you see what is happening — Pfizer disrupts supplies, AstraZeneca disrupts supplies. They keep delaying their deliveries. Because there is not enough capacity, there has never been such an unprecedented vaccination in the world," Maksym Stepanov said.
He also promised that Ukraine will also receive Pfizer vaccines.
"We will also receive Pfizer, we will also receive other vaccines. Moreover, this vaccination is not just the first stage. Then there will be a second wave of vaccination. It is no secret to anyone that in six months one more vaccination should be given. The same Moderna and Pfizer drugs, or other vaccines," the minister added.
According to him, Ukraine is ready to receive the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine, which requires special refrigerators that maintain a temperature of minus 60-80 degrees.
"We have concluded an appropriate agreement on capacity with commercial structures that are capable of producing 300 doses of vaccines per week, as of today. According to the contract, they receive it from the plane, store it in the central warehouse and make a full delivery to the regions," Maksym Stepanov said.
