The new tariff for the next hour for the provision of emergency medical assistance is planned to be increased by 2,5 times. This was announced by Health Minister Maksym Stepanov during the daily briefing.
"Now the tariff is 164 hryvnias, already after the increase. Before that, it was 116 hryvnias. For the next hour, we suggested that it be 412 hryvnias. This is two and a half times more than the current tariff. According to our calculations, the new tariff will cover all the costs of providing this medical service," said Stepanov.
He also explained that the amount that emergency medical assistance receives per month is calculated as follows: the number of people living in the city is multiplied by 164 hryvnias. This money goes to the salaries of employees, fuel for emergency medical vehicles and medical supplies that are in ambulances.
"When we talk about increasing the tariff for the provision of emergency medical care, it is necessary to establish appropriate quality indicators. The first is the time of arrival. Now only 31% of brigades arrive within the time limits established by the state. We are betting that it will be at least 60% next year, 2022% in 75, and at least 2023% in 85. That is, we have a specific plan for reforming emergency medical care. We calculated it in 3-4 years. It also includes patient routing. For example, if there is a patient with a heart attack or stroke, then he should immediately be taken to the hospital designated for the treatment of this patient. Moreover, when the patient is being transported, the emergency team must inform the hospital so that immediately upon arrival the patient will begin to receive medical assistance, especially in the case of a critical condition," the minister said.
And he noted that he personally discussed the establishment of these indicators and quality criteria with emergency workers who support this idea.
