The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, signed Decree No. 415/2020, which created the Council for Social Development of Regions. This is reported on the official website of the head of state.
As noted in the document, the Council is created to ensure the guarantees of social protection of the population, the availability and quality of social services, including during the implementation of the reform on the decentralization of power, assistance in the establishment of effective interaction of state bodies with local self-government bodies, civil society institutions in solving issues of implementation by citizens rights to social protection.
By the same decree, the head of state approved the Regulations on the Council for the Social Development of Regions.
According to the Regulation, the Council is headed by the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine on Social Policy and Health Care. Its decisions are made by the majority of votes of the members of the Council present at the meeting by open voting. In the event of an equal distribution of votes, the vote of the Chairman of the Council is decisive. Based on the results of the meeting, a protocol is drawn up, which is signed by the chairman and the secretary of the Council.
