The European Union refused the vaccine against the coronavirus, which is used to vaccinate Ukrainians

Due to numerous claims.

The European Union refuses to purchase AstraZeneca's coronavirus vaccine. In particular, the contract for its supply in the second half of this year will not be renewed. This was announced by the European Commissioner for the Internal Market, Thierry Breton, Euronews reports.

We note that Ukraine mainly uses this AstraZeneca vaccine (Indian production under the CoviShield brand) in vaccination.

The decision to refuse the vaccine was made in the EU against the background of claims against the manufacturing company, which turned into lawsuits.

The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced that instead of this vaccine, a contract will soon be signed for the supply of almost 2 billion doses of the Pfizer vaccine by the end of 2023.

It should be noted that recently it became known that Romania intends to transfer 100 thousand doses of AstraZeneca vaccine to Ukraine. According to the Prime Minister of this country, Florin Kytsu, this will be a free donation for Ukrainians.

Let us remind you that the scandal surrounding the AstraZeneca vaccine arose after the death of several vaccinated patients. After vaccination, they developed thromboembolism. Then the use of the vaccine was suspended in Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Italy, Austria, Romania, Bulgaria, Thailand, and South Africa.

Later, the European Medicines Agency reported that one in 100 people vaccinated against the coronavirus with AstraZeneca may have a risk of blood clots.
