The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov told how many Russian troops are currently concentrated near our border.
He said that according to the latest data, there are about 140 thousand Russian soldiers, of which 125 thousand are ground contingents.
Alexey Reznikov noted that as of yesterday, the actual withdrawal of troops announced in Moscow had not been observed - small units were leaving.
"The Russians want peace to become scary. Their goal is not Ukraine. The goals are to break the unity of NATO and the EU countries, to recognize the Russian Federation as a dominant entity in world geopolitics," the official said.
According to the minister, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are positioned in such a way "so that we can react in any place, be ready and ensure mobilization if there is a need to pull up the reserves." And the stress we feel now, including psychological stress, makes us stronger.
"We receive a certain vaccination. It's like getting sick with covid, but we will get collective immunity. It is already stronger in our country than in many other countries," Reznikov noted.
Let us remind you that yesterday, February 16, the Ministry of Defense of Russia announced the withdrawal of troops from occupied Crimea. Recently, the Russian Federation demonstrated how it withdraws tanks from the border of Ukraine.
At the same time, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, said that the withdrawal of Russian troops from the border with Ukraine has not yet been observed.
