Trump's bodyguards shot a man "armed" with a comb

51-year-old American Myron Berryman, who "shot" during the press conference of US President Donald Trump, turned out to be "armed with a comb." This was reported by The Washington Post with reference to court documents.

Berryman threatened one of the employees of the Secret Service in the official residence of the president. He declared that he was armed and reached into his pocket. An employee of the Secret Service saw "a black object fall out of Berryman's pocket", after which he shot him, but during the inspection no weapon was found in the attacker's possession. The second guard who arrived at the scene of the incident said that it was a comb.

The man who threatened the presidential guard was transferred to a psychiatric hospital. He is accused of assaulting a law enforcement officer. Berryman said that he does not remember anything about what happened and said that he had previously been diagnosed with schizophrenia. According to him, he left the medical institution on the day of the incident.

It will be recalled that on August 11, it was reported that Trump's security escorted the country's leader from a press conference without explanation. At the moment when Trump was making a statement, a security guard appeared behind him and whispered something in the president's ear, and then led him out of the room. Later, the American leader returned to journalists and explained that he was forced to leave due to reports of shootings near the White House.

"There was shooting, near the White House, but behind the fence," he explained.
