Azerbaijani mass media reported the death of Minister of Defense and commander of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army Jalal Harutyunyan, published the corresponding video.
The video shows the car in which, according to the Azerbaijani side, Harutyunyan was located, as well as escort vehicles. The minister's transport tracks an operational-tactical medium-altitude drone, which then strikes. The battered and burning car drives a few more meters and stops. In the second half of the video, you can see that several people are lying motionless next to the burning car.
According to mass media, the assassination of Harutyunyan was prepared in the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan together with the country's special services. Permanent external surveillance was installed behind the minister's car. The car was hit when Harutyunyan was heading to one of the combat positions.
In turn, the press secretary of the president of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh, Vagram Poghosyan, admitted that Harutyunyan was wounded, but his life was not in danger. In connection with this injury, the head of the republic Araik Harutyunyan made a decision to release Jalal Harutyunyan from the post of defense minister.
