Industrial testing of the latest developments in the field of wastewater treatment began at the Yuzhnaya biological treatment station. This was reported in the Infoksvodokanal branch.
For this purpose, on the initiative of the management of "Infoksvodokanal", specialists of the Austrian company VTA AUSTRIA GmbH, a world leader in the field of wastewater treatment, were invited to Odessa. With the help of their developments, today the largest cities of Asia and Europe, including Vienna, Zurich, Frankfurt, Sofia, are cleaning their sewage.
The company VTA AUSTRIA GmbH has developed unique biological reagents VTA Biokat® P-500 and VTA Hydropromt®, which have no analogues in the world. With their help, the sedimentation of activated sludge improves by 80%, and effluents are purified from ammonium nitrogen, nitrates, nitrites, phosphates, etc. Microbial, pathogenic and multiresistant microorganisms, including coronavirus, Escherichia coli, are removed with an efficiency of 97%.
According to the Austrian experts, at this time "Infoksvodokanal" already cleans wastewater with high quality, without exceeding the standards approved for the enterprise. But with the help of Austrian products, it can be done even more qualitatively, in order to meet stricter European standards, and at the same time reduce the burden on treatment facilities.
The head of international engineering projects of the VTA AUSTRIA GmbH group of companies, Allois Buttinger, expressed hope for the first implementation of an innovative approach to wastewater treatment in Ukraine in Odessa. According to him, the condition of the treatment facilities and technological chain of "Infoksvodokanal" is one of the best in Ukraine. This makes it possible to implement the developments of Austrian scientists with minimal costs and high efficiency.
The mayor of Odesa, Gennady Trukhanov, also got acquainted with the work of Austrian specialists, who noted the importance of the implementation of the wastewater treatment project.
"Odessians should live in a clean city and swim in a clean sea. For this you need to work. And I am glad that Odessa was the first in Ukraine to purify drinking water with a safe reagent. And today, Infoxvodokanal is again the first to try to introduce European developments for wastewater treatment," he said.
According to Ihor Lysenko, director of Infoxvodokanal, the purified wastewater will have the status of technical and can be used without problems for the economic needs of the city, as it is done in Europe - for washing streets, watering lawns, parks, and squares.
After several weeks of industrial testing, specialists will be able to calculate the required amount of reagents for introduction into the full technological cycle at all treatment facilities.
