Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine exposed the officials of the Cardiac Surgery Center at the Odesa Regional Hospital for taking bribes. The cost of the "services" of the participants in the corruption scheme was up to 500. hryvnia This was reported in the SBU press center.
According to the preliminary investigation, the head of the department of the medical institution organized the illegal activity. The organizer of the scheme involved doctors in extorting money from patients for providing services that fall under free medical care.
In particular, according to the legislation of Ukraine, the purchase of prostheses, valve shunts is carried out for budget funds. Employees of the special service recorded that the official received an illegal benefit in cash and personally distributed it among the doctors involved in the scheme.
It was established that the size of the bribe depended on the complexity and condition of the patients and ranged from 86 to 400 thousand. UAH
Law enforcement officers detained the perpetrator in the premises of a medical institution when receiving 11. dollars from a patient who needed an operation on the aorta. During the searches, the operatives seized a draft accounting book, according to which funds received from patients were distributed.
As part of the criminal proceedings under part 3 of Article 368, the detainee was informed of the suspicion, the question of choosing a preventive measure is resolved.
