The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, is confident that there would be a lower incidence of the coronavirus in Ukraine if it weren't for the local elections that will be held on October 25.
The head of state stated this during a briefing in the Ternopil region.
— I believe that if it weren't for the local elections, frankly speaking, the morbidity would be lower. I'm telling the truth. People always focus on the leader... If people see that the head of the village or the mayor comes out and says that the government overestimates the complexity of the situation... That it is possible to hold a city day and gather 20-30 thousand people... People see, orient themselves and behave that way. The responsibility lies precisely with such leadership. That is why today we see 3 new cases of Covid-19, Zelensky said.
According to the president, he would not make any compromises with anyone regarding the relaxation of the quarantine, because the result would be the number of dead people.
