Yulia Tymoshenko, the chairman of the "Batkivshchyna" party, initiates the creation and consideration in the Verkhovna Rada of a law prohibiting the construction of Odessa slopes and recognizing them as a national nature reserve.
This was stated by Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of Batkivshchyna, during a visit to the slopes and a meeting with the public and activists of Odessa.
The head of the party also put her signature to the petition of Odessa residents on the need to adopt a law prohibiting construction on the slopes of Odessa.
"When I had the honor to head the Ukrainian government, we made a decision specifically only for Yubileyny Park, where we banned any construction. This decree is still in effect, and no one has managed to build a park," Yulia Tymoshenko reminded.
She warned that the constructions that are already underway on the slopes require an immediate reaction, an immediate stop.
"If we do not now put a serious barrier to the construction of slopes, if we do not now do everything that is necessary in the parliament, then we will simply lose this unique natural asset of Odessa. I would like us to not just talk about this topic today, but to really work out quickly, literally this week, a bill that prohibits any construction on slopes once and for all. Therefore, just saying that they should not be built is not enough. Therefore, I will take the already prepared draft law from Odessa to Kyiv, we will register it in the parliament, and I hope that we will be able to gather a majority and pass this law," Yulia Tymoshenko assured.
