To combat the COVID-19 coronavirus, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine will start attracting medical students and intern doctors.
Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said this at a briefing on October 17.
"We have a really tense situation with the number of people who are hospitalized. It is clear that we have an increasing workload on doctors. We are considering attracting students to fight the coronavirus, and we have a clear understanding of how and how we can attract medical interns and students of 5-6 years," he said.
The head of the Ministry of Health added that the work of students and interns will be possible only under the guidance of a doctor.
"It is impossible in the second way, because only a specialist doctor can provide medical assistance independently," Stepanov summarized.
