At the end of February, the Russian consul was expelled from Poland. It turned out that despite being infected with the coronavirus, he was in public places and held meetings. 

This was reported by the press secretary of the Minister-Coordinator of the Special Services of Poland, Stanislav Zharyn PAP.

"Consul General of the Russian Federation in Poznań, Igor Oshchepkov, was declared persona non grata in Poland. According to the procedure, he left the territory of Poland. After receiving information about infection with the virus that causes Covid-19, the consul did not comply with sanitary requirements, participated in meetings, appeared in public places, risking the lives of strangers," said Zharyn.

For example, the consul was seen recording the Poznań demonstration in defense of opposition leader Alexei Navalny on January 23.
