In March 2021, the National Police will create a main inspectorate, a new department that will monitor the entire system and analyze the effectiveness of the provision of police services.
This was reported by the press center of the National Police.
"Unfortunately, there are also unscrupulous employees in police departments who cast a shadow over their colleagues with their shameful actions. We have adopted a rule: if a policeman has broken the law, then he is immediately dismissed from the police, and the materials of official investigations are immediately transferred to the relevant law enforcement agencies... It is not necessary to hang labels on the entire multi-thousand police team because of the dishonesty of individuals. We try to become better and work on mistakes," said the head of the National Police, Igor Klymenko.
According to Klymenko, during the past year, internal security units started almost 900 criminal proceedings. Of them, more than 400 - for the fact of offering or providing illegal benefits to police officers, and more than three hundred - for committing illegal actions against police officers.
As a result, almost 600 offenders have already received a message of suspicion. 142 police officers were dismissed for committing crimes, 371 for breach of discipline.
