The Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Iryna Venediktova, announced that an official inspection of the professional activities of the prosecutor of the SAP Vitaly Ponomarenko will be conducted

The Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Iryna Venediktova, announced that an official inspection of the professional activities of the Prosecutor of the SAPS Vitaly Ponomarenko, who had already twice closed the case under the "Rotterdam+" formula, would be conducted.

Venediktova wrote about this on her Facebook page.

"Despite the mass of legal contradictions in the actions of NABU detectives and SAP prosecutors, I made a decision to conduct a thorough, absolutely transparent official audit of the professional activities of SAP prosecutor V.P. Ponomarenko. in terms of his implementation of procedural guidelines in criminal proceedings No. 52017000000000209," wrote Venediktova.

According to her, NABU detectives will be asked to contact the General Inspectorate of the General Prosecutor's Office with all the necessary documents justifying their position in this matter.

Note that on January 25, SAP resumed the investigation of the Rotterdam+ formula case, despite the actions of its employee. At the same time, VAKS refused to recuse SAP prosecutor Vitaly Ponomarenko from the "Rotterdam+" case.

Let us remind you that according to NABU, as part of the investigation of the so-called "Rotterdam+" case, the investigation established that in 2015, representatives of a group of private heat-generating companies began to pressure the management of the NCRECU to include in the tariff (price) for electricity produced by this TPP groups, expenses that were not actually incurred, namely, expenses for the delivery and transshipment of thermal coal to Ukraine from ports in Europe. In March 2016, as indicated in NABU, NCREKU accepted the specified proposal, taking into account the specified non-existent expenses in the formula, according to which the tariff (price) was calculated for the entire thermal generation. This, in turn, according to NABU, led to an increase in the cost of all electric energy and, as a result, an increase in electricity tariffs for industry, social infrastructure facilities, and entrepreneurs who bore the financial burden of paying an unreasonable tariff. As a result, goods and services for the final consumer traveled, including necessities.

The investigation, as reported by NABU, collected evidence that as a result of the specified actions, electricity consumers suffered 2016 billion UAH in losses during 2017-18,87, of which 14,3 billion UAH were received by the private companies that initiated the introduction of "Rotterdam +".

NABU detectives have been investigating the specified facts since March 2017. On August 8, 2019, NABU detectives reported the suspicion of six persons in this case.
