The Delfi vessel, which finally became state property, will be sold to compensate for the damage to the Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine (AMPU). This was stated by at. Alexander Holodnytskyi, head of AMPU.
Due to this, they will try to compensate the losses of port operators and pay fines. The ship will be sold either by the port "Chernomorsk" or by the Administration of Marine Ports of Ukraine.
"The decision of the court of first instance finally turned out to be the last, as the appeal procedure was violated. Therefore, the decision that the Delfi vessel is state property entered into force. We are now presenting a draft order to fix that the vessel is under the control of the Ministry of Infrastructure. And further, either SE "MTP "Chernomorsk" or AMPU will deal with the subsequent sale of the hull, most likely for scrap," said Holodnytskyi.
Let us remind you that the Delfi tanker was lying near the Delphin beach in Odessa for almost an hour. Last autumn, the ego was removed by the forces of private companies and AMPU. Since the owner did not make any efforts to eliminate the consequences of the accident, the government ordered what was left of the vessel from him.
It is known that the formal owner of the ship, the Mister Drake PC company, is being demanded by the court to compensate the damage caused by the AMPU for carrying out emergency and rescue work - about 2,7 million hryvnias. Also, it is necessary to pay a fine of about 16 thousand dollars for spilling oil products and polluting substances from the ship.
