The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, instructed to work out ways to activate tourism between Ukraine and Turkey. This is reported on the government website.

On April 22, a meeting was held on the development of bilateral cooperation with the Republic of Turkey in the field of tourism. The Prime Minister emphasized that it is necessary to develop ways to activate mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkey in the field of tourism, in particular, to expand sea and air traffic.

"Ukrainians are included in the list of numerous tourists in Turkey, and the geography of their recreation is constantly expanding. Therefore, we should consider the possibility of expanding the service, including organizing additional flights to popular routes on weekends, as well as opening a service with new cities," Shmyhal noted.

The head of government also emphasized that favorable conditions should be developed to attract tourists from Turkey to Ukraine.

"In addition to large cities, it is worth considering the possibility of development directed to sanatorium resorts, which will be interesting for traveling with the whole family," said the Prime Minister.

On his part, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Turkey, Andrey Sibyga, added that the outstanding Ukrainian cities of Kamenets-Podolsky, Khotyn, etc. may be interesting for tourists from Turkey.

In addition, the meeting participants discussed the possibility of mutual recognition between Ukraine and Turkey of future health certificates developed in the European Union. According to the Prime Minister, this will help to significantly increase the flow of tourists between the states during the pandemic.

At the end of the meeting, Shmygal instructed the relevant departments to work on the possibility of increasing regular and charter flights between Ukraine and Turkey and to consider ways to simplify the system of visiting Ukraine by vaccinated Turkish citizens.
