Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that the local elections in March 2024 will be the last in his political career. It is reported Reuters.
"For me, this is the final, according to the mandate given by law, this is my last election. The outcome will be a legacy for my brothers and sisters who will come after me.” Erdogan said.
Erdogan, the most successful politician in modern Turkey, has ruled the country for more than two decades. The winner of more than a dozen elections since 2002, Erdogan was re-elected to a five-year term in a hotly contested election in May 2023.
