Most Ukrainians celebrate Christmas on January 7 and consider it their favorite among New Year's holidays, they testify survey results, conducted by the Sociological group "Rating" on January 2-4, 2021.
According to the results, 77% of respondents noted that they celebrate Christmas on January 7, 15% said that they celebrate this holiday twice, both according to the Julian calendar (January 7) and according to the Gregorian calendar (December 25), only 3% celebrate Christmas only on December 25 . At the same time, 5% of Ukrainians do not celebrate Christmas at all.
Most of all those who celebrate Christmas twice, or in a new style — in the western regions and in Kyiv.
56% of respondents noted that Christmas is their favorite among New Year's holidays. 28% said that it was the New Year, 6% — St. Nicholas Day, 3% — Old New Year.
In the course of the CATI (computer-assisted telephone interviews) survey, 2,5 people were interviewed based on a random sample of mobile phone numbers. respondents. Audience: the population of Ukraine aged 18 and older in all regions, except the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Donbass. The sample is representative in terms of age, gender and type of settlement.
