Now in Ukraine it is possible to implement about 70-75 thousand PCR tests per day. This was reported by Health Minister Maksym Stepanov during the briefing.
"Today, we are doing a small amount of tests, if compared with our testing capabilities. I would like to remind you that our capabilities are only for PCR testing, and only in the laboratories of the Ministry of Health, there are no less than 55 thousand tests per day, and there are also private laboratories to which we are willing to pay money for testing, laboratories that are located in our hospitals. That is... we produce somewhere around 70-75 thousand tested by the PCR method per day," Stepanov said.
He also reminded that, in addition to PCR testing, express tests for the antigen COVID-19 were introduced in Ukraine.
"In addition to the PCR method, we also introduced rapid antigen tests... These tests have already arrived in the regions, they are in our family doctors," Stepanov added.
In addition, Stepanov urged Ukrainians to take a test for COVID-19 if they have any symptoms of an acute respiratory disease.
